Disaster. I was using my iDisk as a document directory so that I could access all my files with my iphone. I was however getting the problem that my iDisk was no longer in sync. Doing this meant that it was the iDisk server version of my files (i.e. those that were out of sync and out of date) that were forced onto my computer, deleting therefore all my important files.

Not such a good a solution I am afraid.

Copied from the above link:

"First, stop iDisk sync if it is already on. Then, mount your iDisk in finder. Once the root level folders are visible, Fire up Terminal, and type

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

This will make the invisible files there visible. Then, delete two files (.FileSync and .Temp..)

Once this is done, type defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE to hide invisibles again.

Finally, turn iDisk sync back on. Sync should be fixed, you can verify this by the absence of the typical error message in Console."

-thanks to Dr K Laji for this solution!

Found a working solution here >> http://www.onmow.net/home/2009/11/8/idisk-sync-error-solved.html

Worked for me. As often, deleting temp-files and other holding files usually does the job...

Good Luck!

Many thanks for this - even though I am on 10.6.2 with a new iMac/MacBook combo the iDisk suddenly stopped syncing a couple of days back. Mobile me support didn't suggest the above workthrough, but everything seems to be working well again thanks to this.

Good work!

Hi Viv,

This was fixed for most by installing the update to 10.6.1 or 10.6.2. Did the upgrade not work?
